BAYEGAN ve Tasnee Sponsorluğunda Gerçekleşen ChemOrbis Petrokimya Konferansı’nda Sektörün Sorunları ve Geleceği Masaya Yatırıldı.

Shaping the dynamics of the petrochemicals industry, ChemOrbis Global Petrochemical Conference 2024 was held in Istanbul on October 22, sponsored by BAYEGAN and Tasnee. ChemOrbis has been organizing global conferences in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa since 2010 by bringing together industry leaders, experts and visionaries to explore trends, share knowledge and shape the future. Leading experts and companies representing all stakeholders of the industry, including distributors, manufacturers, end users, and logistics partners attended this year’s conference.

The opening speeches of the conference were delivered by Burcu Olcay Üstüner, CEO of BAYEGAN and Al-Daajani, Tasnee’s Vice President of Trade. In her speech, Burcu Olcay Üstüner said: "First of all, I would like to thank you all for being with us today, especially ChemOrbis for organizing this great event and Tasnee for supporting the Turkish market. Last year was not an easy period, the crisis affected not only Türkiye but the whole world globally. Although I think 2025 will be more difficult, I believe that Türkiye will be a bright star in the petrochemical sector, and I hope that we will see the previous growths in our sector again. We, as BAYEGAN, will continue to grow together with our suppliers and customers. We are aware of our responsibility in this growth process, and we are taking strong steps in this direction. With our increasing strength in production, expanding trade volume and innovative product portfolio, we aim to make a difference not only in Türkiye but also around the world. Our medium and long-term strategy is to develop production processes supported by innovation, putting a more people-oriented approach at the heart of sustainable growth.”

"I would like to thank everyone here today for their participation, the ChemOrbis team for organizing this event and BAYEGAN for our ongoing cooperation. One of the most important issues facing our industry is the supply-demand balance. As suppliers and customers, we must all work together to maintain it," noted Yasser-Al-Daajani on behalf of Tasnee.

Alp Fehmi Özdenler, CEO of ChemOrbis said, "We are facing oversupply, so optimization in production will be important. We also need to closely monitor geopolitical uncertainties. Plastic recycling will affect costs and the supply-demand balance in the coming period," during his speech, “Navigating polymers: Unveiling market dynamics”.

ChemOrbis market analysts provided rich content including market analysis and forecasts on a product and regional basis, underlining that the industry is in a state of change. Demand contraction, oversupply, cost pressure and squeezed margins, environmental impacts and priorities, and geopolitical factors were cited as the main factors behind this change. Innovation, optimization in production and at every stage of the value chain, and cooperation within the sector were highlighted as ways out of this paradigm.

Discussion topics at the conference were as follows: "Navigating polymers: Unveiling market dynamics", "Türkiye’s path to normalization", "Surviving the current paradigm", "Exploring the China-Europe-Türkiye nexus for polyolefins (PP & PE) markets", "PET market and r-PET markets", "Breaking the mold: Enzymatic recycling unleashes the power of nature", "Industry sustainability and carbon asset management", " Delving into PVC markets for Asia-Europe-Türkiye: Insights and Forecasts", "Styrenics: Value chain and derivatives perspective", " Navigating transformational change: Challenges and opportunities in the plastics resin packaging industry ".
