Growth Driven by Exports to Europe and the United States
BAYEGAN, a supplier of polymer and chemical raw materials, has announced a major step forward in the industry with its high-capacity manufacturing investment implemented under its production subsidiary BYCHEM. The facility targets an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons of TPU, aiming to reduce the current account deficit in the domestic market while increasing exports to global markets, particularly Europe and the United States.
With nearly 85 years of experience, BAYEGAN operates on a global scale in petrochemical supply, marketing, sales, and distribution, reaching 120 countries across five continents. Through BYCHEM, the company is carrying Türkiye’s engineering strength, sustainable production capacity, and innovative vision onto the international stage, while actively shaping the future of the sector.
BAYEGAN CEO Burcu Olcay Üstüner stated that the company continues its operations with more than 3,000 business partners domestically and internationally, including leading companies in the energy and petrochemical sectors.
“We provide integrated solutions to our customers through 13 logistics and warehousing hubs across three continents. As Türkiye’s largest polymer and chemical raw material supplier, BAYEGAN has extended its expertise in supply, sales, and trading into manufacturing through the BYCHEM facility. In line with our vision to reduce Türkiye’s dependency on imports through domestic production and to strengthen the country’s global competitiveness, we continue to invest decisively in innovative solutions and future-shaping technologies. Within this scope, the new Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) and polyester polyol investment recently commissioned at the BYCHEM facility in Dilovası, Kocaeli, has become the largest facility of its kind in the region and Türkiye’s first domestically produced TPU, now serving both local and international customers,” she said.
Annual Target: 50,000 Tons of TPU Production
Üstüner emphasized that the investment represents the largest-capacity facility in Türkiye’s polymer market, with an annual target of 50,000 tons of TPU production.
“Next-generation TPU products offering high-performance solutions particularly for the automotive, textile, medical, and electrical-electronics sectors are manufactured at our modern production facility, which currently spans 35,000 square meters of indoor space and has the potential to expand up to 55,000 square meters,” she noted.
Üstüner also explained that approximately half of the current production capacity at the BYCHEM facility is dedicated to exports.
“With this strategic investment, we aim not only to reduce the domestic current account deficit but also to increase exports of value-added products to global markets, primarily Europe and the United States. In the second phase, the Middle East and Turkic Republics will be included among our target export markets,” she added.
BYCHEM Produces “The Material of the Future”
Highlighting the product range of BYFLEXX® TPU, BYCHEM’s 100% domestically funded Thermoplastic Polyurethane brand, Üstüner underlined that it reflects Türkiye’s industrial strength.
“BYFLEXX® TPU, which stands out with its high durability, flexibility, and 100% recyclability, is positioned as ‘the material of the future’ across a wide range of industries including automotive, medical, footwear, cables, pipes, and packaging. The global launch of BYFLEXX® TPU was held at K-Fair 2025 in Düsseldorf, Germany, one of the most prestigious plastic and rubber industry exhibitions held every three years. The BYFLEXX® TPU series attracted significant attention, with its first orders received during the fair,” she said.
Üstüner added that the TPU product portfolio includes all aromatic TPU variants based on polyester, polyether, polycaprolactone, and polycarbonate structures. Production initially began with aromatic TPU types and will continue in the next phase with aliphatic TPU variants. She also noted that TPU composites and compound products will be added to the portfolio.
“We Will Continue Customer-Centric Growth”
BAYEGAN CEO Burcu Olcay Üstüner stated that BAYEGAN is the exclusive distributor of leading global petrochemical producers, adding:
“Our access to global markets, agile business model, trust-based partnerships, ability to deliver flexible, customer-specific solutions, strong distribution network, manufacturing capabilities, storage and service infrastructure, and broad product portfolio enable us to create sustainable added value for the industry. In 2026, we will continue to focus on investments that accelerate our growth both domestically and globally. We will move forward with a model that meets the needs of Türkiye’s industry while contributing foreign currency inflows to the national economy. In short, in 2026 we will further deepen our customer-centric approach, strengthen our partnerships, and rapidly adapt to new market conditions. We will continue to be a reliable business partner by delivering fast and effective solutions. At the same time, we will invest in technologies that advance digitalization and improve operational efficiency. Sustainability, ESG governance, and social responsibility will remain cornerstones of our business strategy. Through the BAYEGAN Foundation, we are expanding our support for education and youth projects, and through our long-standing commitment to chess, we continue to invest in the world-class athletes of the future.”
R&D, Innovation, and Digitalization at the Core
Emphasizing that technology is placed at the center of business processes, Üstüner said:
“With a strong focus on R&D, innovation, and digitalization, we strive to always deliver the best to our customers. The 3,300-square-meter R&D center located within the BYCHEM facility stands out as one of the most comprehensive and capable research centers in the TMEA region (Türkiye, Middle East, and Africa). The center leads the region not only in polymer development but also in special formulations, customer-oriented solutions, and sustainable material innovations.”
